Here are some of the expected highlights for the SharePoint Area provided by the SharePoint Technical Product Managers:

• Improved Read-only Content Databases
  Whenever a content database is marked read-only, all of the site collections in that database are automatically marked as read-only.
• ECM Performance and Manageability Improvements
  Improved performance and manageability in variations, including STSADM commands for repairing links between source and target pages.
• Improved Index Rebuild Timer Jobs
  SharePoint content databases running in SQL Server 2005 will undergo an automatic index rebuild, which helps stop defragmentation, and stop the database from degrading in performance.
• Upgrade Checker
  This will scan your SharePoint farm in advance of applying SP2 and will provide feedback on the environments readiness to upgrade
• Download Service Pack 2 for WSS 3.0
• Download Service Pack 2 for MOSS 2007

Got My First Sharepoint Certification In WSS Application Development (Exam 70-541)

Hi guys,

It has been long time i didnt post any thing on this blog, i was busy with my projects and was studying sharepoint books for certification. Initially i had planned to do certification on Exam 70-630, i had posted article regarding this on my blogs here.  But later relasied that as a sharepoint developer it would be good if i get certification in application development in WSS and then in MOSS so started preparing for the exam. i took the Exam 70-541 yesterday, at one instance during the exam i felt i will not be clearing it, but once the exam was done i cleared it by scoring 871/1000 . Guys one thing i would suggest you is never beleive 100% on dumps. while going for exam i also studied dumps but frankly speaking hardly 5 to 10 question came from the dump rest was completely different.

I had been working on sharepoint for quite a long time, its almost 1.5 years now, this helped me a lot in clearing the exam. So be sure that if you are plannign to write sharepoint exam you need to have hands on experience on it.  I read the follwing books

1. Inside Microsoft® Windows® SharePoint® Services 3.0 by

Ted Pattison (Ted Pattison Group); Daniel Larson 

In this book you can skip the Ajax Chapters has there are no questions in exam on ajax integration with sharepoint
This books doesnt cover all the chapter that  are required to clear WSS application development certification. You have to read Windows Sharepoint Services SDK
